ミトコンドリアのダイナミクス
Comments (0) 2013年12月5日、New England Journal of Medicineにミトコンドリアのダイナミクスについての総説が掲載されました。とても良く纏まっていて、昨日見つけてその場で読了しました。
ミトコンドリアは、融合と分裂を繰り返し、数や品質の維持をしています。これらダイナミクスの異常で、疾患が引き起こされることがあります。この論文では、導入部でダイナミクスのメカニズムや重要性を説明し、後半にその異常が関与する疾患を説明しています。「常染色体劣性若年性パーキンソニズム」や「Charcot-Marie-Tooth病 type 2A」など、神経疾患もいくつか登場しますので、神経内科医が読んで楽しめるのではないかと思います。Table 1には、介在タンパク質と、その異常で引き起こされる疾患の一覧表があり、Figure 4には “Mitochondrial Disease in Humans” が纏められているので、全部読む余裕が無い方は、これらを眺めるだけでも勉強になるはずです。

Mitochondria fuse and divide in response to cell demands and environment. Alterations in mitochondrial dynamics underlie various human diseases, including cancer and neurologic and cardiovascular diseases. Defining the alterations may identify potential therapeutic targets.
